Larry Sheehan, 61 years old, of Remsen, IA died Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars, IA.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 30, 2012, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen with Rev. William McCarthy officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Remsen. Visitation will be anytime after 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, 2012. There will be a parish rosary at 3 p.m. and a vigil prayer service at 7 p.m., all at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.
Larry was born on June 22, 1950, at LeMars, IA the son of Leslie & Norma (Loutsch) Sheehan. He was raised and educated in the Remsen area and graduated from Remsen-Union High School in 1968. He then attended Iowa State University. He entered the Air National Guard in June of 1969 and served until May 1975. Larry then farmed south of Remsen.
On May 25, 1979, he married Renee Kunkel at Remsen.
Larry was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church & American Legion Post 220 of Remsen. Larry loved watching sports, especially I.S.U., the Broncos & Cardinals. He loved his John Deere’s & farming. He also loved being with his grandchildren.
Survivors include: his wife Renee of Remsen; four children, Trisha (Jeremy) Stoeber, Ryan (Renee) Sheehan and their daughter Mckenna all of LeMars, IA, Daniel (Lori) Sheehan and their son Lucas, Neil (Krystal) Sheehan and their daughter Breeana all of Remsen; his mother, Norma Tentinger of Remsen; his brother, Pat (Mary) Sheehan of LeMars, IA; his sister, Madonna (John) Shelso of Sioux Falls, SD; his step brother, Mike (Rochelle) Tentinger of Remsen; his step sister, Peggy (Blain) Butner of Arlington, VA; father & mother-in-law, Orville & Colleen Kunkel; five brothers-in-law, Chuck (Mary) Kunkel of Omaha, NE, Kevin (Audrey) Kunkel of Fremont, NE, Jim (Karen) Kunkel of Marcus, IA, David Kunkel of Remsen, IA, Roger (Kristie) Kunkel of Sioux City, IA; four sisters-in-law, Michelle (Dave) Reinholt of Canon City, CO, Barb Pierson of LeMars, IA, Connie (Kurt) Schneekloth of Oakland, NE, Shannan (Bill) Schreiner of Remsen; numerous nieces & nephews.
Preceded in death by, his father Leslie, his step father Emmert Tentinger,
