Lee Grage, 65 years old, of Remsen, IA, died Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at his family farm.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 20, 2018, at the MMCRU Elementary School gymnasium at Remsen, IA with Pastor Garret Kasper officiating. Burial will be in the Remsen Community Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be 4-7p.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2018, with a prayer service at 5 p.m., all at the MMCRU Elementary School Gymnasium. Visitation will resume Friday at the school from 9:30a.m. until service time. Services have been entrusted to Fisch Funeral Home & Monument of Remsen. Lee was born August 14, 1952, in LeMars, IA, the son of Arlie and Aileen (Case) Grage. He was raised and educated in the Marcus area attending Marcus Community High School graduating in 1970. He then attended Northwest Community College for carpentry. He then began farming with his father. He was in partnership with Grage Trucking LLC with his sons. He was proud to raise high quality beef cattle.
On June 23, 1973 he married his high school sweetheart, Jean Lehnhoff at Trinity Lutheran Church in Marcus, IA. The couple then farmed and raised their family near Remsen on the Grage Century Farm. Over the years Lee built the house that they currently live in and a couple of buildings on the farm.
Lee was a member of Christ Lutheran Church of Remsen. For 3 years he was on the REC board. He loved spending time with his family and fishing. He enjoyed shooting guns and spending time with his fishing buddies.
Survivors include: his wife, Jean of Remsen; his mother, Aileen of Marcus; three children, Joanna (Alan) Bowden of Omaha, NE, Jason (Jackie) Grage of Remsen, and Michael (Ruth) Grage of Remsen; 5 grandchildren; Gunnar, Mason, Taya, Maci and Ella Grage; Siblings; David (Jan) Grage of Burbank, SD, Donna (Jerry) Sherwood of Sioux City, IA, Jean (Larry) Wurth of Marcus, Keith (Diane) Grage of Gregory, SD; one aunt, Marian Bierman of Pierson, IA.
Preceded by: his father, Arlie, two nephews, Brandon and Justin Grage
Casket bearers will be, Nick Pick, Justin Pick, Brad Klein, Kenny Klein, Cole Simons, Chris Poeckes, Matt Sherwood, Russell Sherwood and Jeremy Grage.
Honorary bearers will be Lee’s grandchildren, Gunnar, Mason, Taya, Maci & Ella.
