Lori A. Stevens, 42 years old, of LeMars, IA passed away Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, IA.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at St. James Catholic Church in LeMars with Rev. Paul Eisele officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in LeMars. Visitation will be anytime after 4 p.m. on Sunday, there will be a parish rosary at 5 p.m. and vigil prayer service at 7 p.m. all at the St. James Catholic Church in LeMars. Visitation will resume from 9 a.m. until service time Monday at the church. Services have been entrusted to Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.
Lori was born on Dec. 19, 1970, the daughter of Lee and Loretta (Kommes) Steichen at Orange City, IA. She was raised and educated in the Alton area and graduated from Spalding Catholic High School in 1989. She then attended USD and graduated in 1994. She then worked at Diamond Vogel in Orange City, then Reardon Commodities in LeMars.
On June 24, 1995 she married Mike Alesch at St. Mary’s Church in Alton. The couple had two children, Bryce Alesch born Nov. 20, 1996 and Brooke Alesch born Sept. 12, 2000.
On May 2, 2009 she married Kevin Stevens at Foster Park in LeMars. She was currently working at Curry Seeds in Elk Point, SD.
She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in LeMars. She enjoyed Hunting, gardening and especially her family.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Kevin Stevens of LeMars; six children, Bryce and Brooke Alesch of LeMars, Ashley (Joey) Hensch and their children, Olivia, Gavin, Ava and Carver of Sibley, IA, Shantry (Dustin) Dake and their children, Autumn, Mariah and Treyton of Sibley, IA, Cecily (Derek) Lucas and their children, Bentley, Aubrey and Kensley of Hartley, IA, Seth (Amber) Stevens of Sioux Falls, SD; her parents Lee and Loretta Steichen of Alton; one sister Sheri (Brian) Konz and their children, Lexi, Braden and Wyatt of Alton, IA; two brothers, Dan (Candy) Steichen and their children, Amber, Austin, Aaron, Kelsey, Kylie and Jacob of LeMars, IA, Dale Steichen of Alton, IA; a great nephew Bentley Miller; numerous aunts and uncles.
Preceded in death by, her grandparents, and a granddaughter, Ella Dake.
Casket Bearers will be, Aaron and Austin Steichen, Tom Platt, Jeff Zettel, Balinda Zwak, Traci Noteboom.
Honorary Bearers will be, her many adored nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
