Lorna Caroline Majeres

Lorna C. Majeres, 90, of Remsen, Iowa, passed away Monday, June 13, 2022 at Happy Siesta Health Care Center in Remsen, IA.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen with Fr. Timothy Pick officiating.  Burial will be at a later date at the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Remsen.   Visitation with family present will be 4-7p.m. Wednesday. There will be a parish rosary and vigil prayer service at 5 p.m. all at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen. Visitation will resume 1 hour before the funeral on Thursday at the funeral home.  Services have been entrusted to the Fisch Funeral Home & Monument of Remsen. Lorna was born March 26, 1932 at rural Le Mars, IA, the daughter of Henry & Mary (Berding) Krogman.  She was raised and educated in Plymouth County area, attending school at Remsen St. Mary’s.  Over the years she worked at a dress shop, Happy Siesta Health Care Center, Ruth’s Café all in Remsen and also Aalfs Manufacturing in Le Mars, IA.

She married Zeno Roder on June 5, 1951 at Remsen.  They lived near Granville, IA where they farmed.  Zeno died Jan. 29, 1956.

On April 23, 1956 she married Leonard Majeres at Remsen.  They farmed near Neptune, IA until Nov. 1, 1956, when they moved to a farm near Oyens, IA.  They moved into Remsen on Feb. 11, 1960.  Leonard died Nov. 26, 2007.  Lorna moved to Happy Siesta Health Care Center on May 16, 2016.

Survivors include one son, Kevin Majeres of Remsen, IA; three step-sons, Duane (Florine) Majeres of Remsen, IA, Donald (Rose) Majeres of Remsen, IA, Robert (Debbie) Majeres of Le Mars, IA; one step-daughter-in-law, Judy Majeres of Des Moines, IA; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceded by her husbands Zeno Roder & Leonard Majeres; two step-sons, Richard Majeres & Ronald Majeres; two brothers, Ambrose & Milo; two sisters, Germain & Marvel “Mert”.
