Marcella G. Reichle

November 19, 1923 — February 21, 2011

Marcella G. Reichle, 87 years old, of Alton, IA, died Monday, Feb.21, 2011, at Heritage House Nursing Home in Orange City, IA. 
        Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton with Rev. Paul Eisele officiating.  Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Alton.  Visitation will be anytime after 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011.  There will be a parish rosary at 5 p.m., and vigil prayer service at 7 p.m., all at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton.  Services have been entrusted to Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.
        Marcie was born Nov. 19, 1923, at Granville, IA, the daughter of Bert & Mae (Kellen) Schnurr.  She was raised and educated in the Granville area graduating from St. Mary’s Academy in Alton in 1940.
        On Feb. 9, 1941 she married Harold J. Reichle at Granville, IA.  After their marriage the couple lived on a farm near Granville where she worked with her husband.  In 1950 they moved to the LeMars area and farmed.  In 1958 they moved to Canby, MN and farmed and returned to LeMars in 1960.  Marcie was employed at Kohout Cap Co.  In 1962 they moved to a farm near Carnes, IA.  In 1968 they moved to Alton where Marcie was employed at Hentges Hardware and eventually started working for Farmers Cooperative Elevator as a Bookkeeper.  Marcie retired in 1984.  Harold died Nov. 1986.  She resided in Alton until Jan. 2005 when she moved to Landsmeer Retirement Home.  Marcie had been a resident of the Heritage House Nursing Home since Feb. 2008.
        Marcie was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church & church guild.  She enjoyed sewing, quilting and crocheting.  She especially loved the times she spent with her children and grandchildren.
        Survivors include; Two sons and three daughters; Joyce Lancaster and her husband Darrel, Dale Reichle and his wife Deb all of LeMars, IA, Betty Holles and her husband Lloyd of Lincoln, NE, Judy Meis and her husband Mark, Bob Reichle and his wife Linda all of Alton;    20 Grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren; 4 sisters-in-law,  Tillie Reichle of Princeton, MN, Bertie Full of Canby, MN, Inez Reichle of Orange City, IA, Catherine Pohlen & her husband Clarence of Hospers;  Step sister-in-laws & brother-in-laws, Bob & Lorraine Fischer, Lorraine Becker all of Granville, IA, Florence Pottebaum of Alton, Jerry Meylor of Marcus, IA. 
        Preceded by: her parents, 2 sisters, Laurene Schnurr & Rita Poss & her husband Wilfred, daughter-in-law, Sharon Reichle; 4 brothers-in-law, John & Lawrence Reichle, Tony Grady & his wife Angie, Ray Full; 1 sister-in-law, Delia Alsup, step brothers & sisters-in-law, Lloyd Becker, Ferd Pottebaum, Lillian & Melvin Von Arb, Irene Meylor.
        Casket Bearers will be,  Tim & Ted Lancaster, Heath Reichle, Bart Holles, Chad Meis, Matt Reichle.
        Honorary Bearers will be, Grandchildren
