Marjorie Frances Reuter

Marjorie Frances Reuter, age 85 of Alton, IA passed away Friday, Sept. 5, 2025, at Prairie Ridge Care Center in Orange City, Iowa.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2025, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton, Iowa with Rev. Daniel Greving officiating and Deacon Dan Goebel assisting. Burial will follow at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Alton. Visitation with family present will be 9:30-10:15 a.m. on Wednesday at the church in Alton. Marjorie was born Jan. 5, 1940, in Pilot Grove, MO the daughter of Bertram & Merina (Probst) Reuter. She was raised and educated in Alton, IA. She attended St. Mary’s Academy in Alton, graduating in 1957. Over the years she was employed at Hentges Hardware and then Braun Hardware.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Mary’s Rosary Society and St. Mary’s Choir. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, baking, bowling and collecting antique glassware.

Survivors include her siblings, James (Coralee) Reuter of Lancaster, CA, Linda Hagar of Preston, ID, John Reuter of Burbank, CA, Mary (Hank) Goebel of Granville, IA.

She was preceded by her parents; sister, Carol (Marvin) Klein; brother, Ronald Reuter (Janet Bruns); nephew, Jeff Reuter; brother-in-law, Lawrence Hagar; great-nephew, Brad Reuter.

Casket bearers will be Steve Riedemann, Jenna Bruns, Dan Bruns, Sara Wichers, Travis Holzman, Earl Irvin.
