Matthew Thomas Kenny, 51, died peacefully at home in the suburbs of Akron, Iowa, on December 27, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

Celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2026 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Akron with Chaplain Paula Damon officiating. Visitation with family present will be 1 hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Services have been entrusted to Fisch Funeral Home & Monument of Remsen, IA www.fischfh.com.

Matthew Thomas Kenny is survived by his wife, Bobbie Joe Kenny, step son Preston Hanssen, son-in-law and daughter Dillon & Lily Lynott, son Lane Matthew Kenny, daughter Hannah Kenny, son Raymond Kenny, parents Jim & Diana Kenny, brothers Mike and Mark Kenny along with their families, brother-in-law James Nieman’s family, grandmother Marion Utesch. And lastly, he is survived by his greatest blessing, granddaughter Kinsley Kaye Lynott.

He is proceeded in death by Grandpa James Utesch, Grandparents Tom & Bonnie Kenny, Great Aunt June Lamoureux, good friend Kenny Van Wyk, his best horse Magic, and best dog Chewy.
