Myrt was an active member of her church by teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, sponsor of the Youth Group, member of church council, financial secretary, officer of Ladies Aid, alter guild, funeral helper, and provider.  She was secretary of Remsen Cemetery Association for many years and a long-time volunteer of Hospice of Siouxland.
