Naomi Lynne Kappler, age 87 entered the kingdom of our Lord on July 7, 2024 at Floyd Valley Healthcare Hospital in Le Mars, Iowa.

Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Christ Lutheran Church LCMS in Remsen, with Vicar Matt Martin officiating. Burial will follow at the Kingsley Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Services have been entrusted to Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.

Lynne was born to Reed and Viola (Wetrosky) Richardson on November 28, 1936. She was baptized at Trinity Lutheran in Hinton, Iowa and confirmed at the First Lutheran Church in Kingsley ,Iowa. Lynne married Wm Lewton in 1956. They later divorced. October, 1966 she married Wayne Kappler. He passed away in 2000.

Lynne was a member of Christ Lutheran Church LCMS in Remsen and the church quilt club. Her neighborhood lovingly referred to her as Grandma Lynne. She was a talented seamstress, sewing all her own clothes in her working days. She also used this talent to make burial outfits for babies born as angels. She loved to do puzzles, cross stitch and color in books with colored pencils. She also loved to cook and garden and enjoyed traveling.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Kirk Lewton of Remsen, IA; step-children, Gene (Marty) Kappler, Roger (Thuy) Kappler, Barbie LeClair, and Neal Kappler; grand children, Tonya Freeman, Jacquelyn Hartsock, and 9 great-grandchildren; her brother, Robert Richardson of Kingsley, IA. and her Neighborhood Family. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Cecil Cass Lewton; her husband Wayne Kappler.
