Norma Anne Keffeler, 93, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Happy Siesta Care Center in Remsen, IA on Thursday, March 1 2018.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday March 3, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen with the Rev. William McCarthy officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Remsen. Visitation with family present will be one hour prior to services with a parish rosary at 9:45 a.m. at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument of Remsen.
Norma was born on August 18, 1924 to John & Catherine (Lenertz) Keffeler in Remsen, IA. She lived on the family farm and in Remsen. Norma graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic School in 1943.
Norma enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, walking, singing and listening to music. Norma was a devoted Catholic by leading and praying the rosary and attending mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen. Norma was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Larry Hodgen and Jo Thayer, of Colorado Springs, CO, Mary (Jack) Barry of St. Petersburg, FL, Bill (Dottie) Hodgen of Omaha, NE, Kathy (Bill) Castle of West Des Moines, IA, Liz Pick of Spencer, IA, Carol Dexter, John (Pat) Hodgen and Rose (Steve) Loutsch of Remsen, IA. She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Martha (Glen) Hodgen, nephew Robert “Bob” Hodgen, nephew-in-law, Ken Pick and great-great niece, Jae Nichole Ellis.
Casket bearers will be her great nephews, Jason Loutsch, Troy Hodgen, Brad Hodgen, Dr. Andy Pick, Rob Castle and John Goodman.
