Kristina M. Norris, 60, of Orlando, Florida, formerly of Marcus, Iowa, passed away on Monday, May 15, 2017 in Orange City, Florida following a courageous five year battle with cancer. A Celebration of Life Service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at the Earnest – Johnson Funeral Home in Marcus. Rev. Christopher Childs of Grace United Methodist Church in Marcus will officiate. Burial will follow at Marcus-Amherst Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Kristina Marie Norris was born on December 11, 1956 in Le Mars, Iowa, the daughter of Ervin and Dorothy (Broblek) Norris. She graduated from Marcus High School. She enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1975. Kristina served as a fire department dispatcher and earned an Honorable Discharge in 1985.

Following her service to the country, Kristina took a position at Pep Boys in Las Vegas, Nevada. She would later be transferred to Rancho Cucamonga, California. In 2011, she returned to the area and worked at Johnston Motor Supplies in Sioux City, Iowa. Kristina moved to Florida in 2012 to spend her retirement years.

Kristina was a caring person with a soft heart. She was always willing to help anyone in need. She enjoyed animals and they, in return, loved her.

She will be missed by her sister, Donna Dempster of Le Mars, IA; a niece, Jessica Cooper and Tory of Correctionville, IA; a nephew, Jason Dempster and his wife, Tonya of Fort Smith, AR; and nine great-nieces and nephews.

Kristina was preceded in death by her grandparents, Joe and Mildred Brobleck; parents, Ervin and Dorothy Norris; and a special friend, Artie Easton.
