Patricia Ann Staab, 72 years old, of Remsen, IA died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer at St. Luke’s Hospital in Sioux City, IA. 
        Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010, at the First Baptist Church in LeMars, IA with Pastor Jon Meredith officiating.  Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City, IA.  Visitation will be anytime after 4 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 10, 2010.  There will be a prayer service at 6 p.m. all at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument LLC in Remsen.  Visitation will resume from 10 a.m. until service time at the church on Saturday.
        Patricia was born on May 10, 1938, at Sioux City, IA the daughter of Dale & Alta (Larson) Collins.  She was raised and educated in Sioux City, graduating from Leeds High School in 1956.  On Oct. 13, 1956 she married Wendell Staab at Vermillion, SD.  They were married 53 years.
        Patricia and Wendell owned and operated the Remsen Processing Center from Sept. 1976 until they retired in 2002 and sold the business to their son and his wife to continue the family success.  Patty decided that retirement wasn’t for her so she worked for a short time at Vander Meer Bakery & Hy-Vee both in LeMars, IA.  Upon the opening of the Casey’s in LeMars Patty worked there from 2003 until June of 2010.  No one made pizza like Patty.  Wendell passed away May 15, 2010.
       She had a special connection with the First Baptist Church.
       Survivors include: One daughter Linda Pick of Perry, IA; Three sons, Pete Staab & his wife Ruth, Chuck Staab all of Remsen, Robert Staab & his wife Angela of Nixa, MO; Two granddaughters , Seven grandsons; Five Great-grandchildren; One sister, Peggy Taylor of Sioux City; One brother, Jerry Collins & his wife Sharon of South Sioux City, NE; One niece & three nephews.
       Preceded in death by, her parents, one brother-in-law Jerry Taylor.
       Pallbearers will be his 3 sons, Pete, Chuck & Bert Staab, 4 Grandsons, Morrie, Jason & Christopher Marks & Travis Staab.
       Honorary Bearers will be his granddaughters Kalee & Emily Staab, grandsons, Cooper, Dalton & Ethan Staab, Great-grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Jordan, Dylan & Trinity Marks & Alyssa Peters.
