Pearl A. Schnepf, age 89, of Oyens, Iowa died Saturday, June 13, 2026, at her home in Oyens, surrounded by her family, after a brief diagnosis with cancer (multiple myeloma).

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 19, 2026, at All Saints Catholic Parish - St. James Church in LeMars, IA with Rev. Doug Klein officiating and Rev. Tim Hogan concelebrating. Burial will follow at the St. Catherine's Catholic Cemetery in Oyens. There will be a vigil prayer service at 4 p.m. on Thursday with visitation to follow until the rosary at 6:30 p.m. all at the church. Visitation will resume from 9:30-10:15 a.m. on Friday at the church. Services have been entrusted to Fisch Funeral Home & Monument of Remsen, IA. Condolences may be sent online to www.fischfh.com.

Pearl was born on March 7, 1937, in Alton, IA, to Theodore & Nathalia (Steichen) Schwebach. She was raised and educated in Alton, graduating from St. Mary's Academy School in 1955. She then attended National Business Training, and followed up with working at Johnson Biscuit Company as a secretary until marriage.

On October 28, 1959 she married Donald Schnepf at St. Mary's Catholic Church

in Alton, IA. The couple made their home in Oyens and bought and operated the Oyens DX gas/service station in 1961. She also worked for the US Postal Service for 30 years, retiring in 1997.

Pearl enjoyed reading, baking and attending grandchildren's sporting events. She belonged to the former St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Oyens and was a member of the St. Catherine's Guild & Christian Mothers.

Survivors include: 5 children, Sandra (Kelly) Fitzpatrick of Beaverton, OR, Kathryn (Garry) Gengler of LeMars, IA, Mary (Dave) Suntken of Orange City, IA, Kim (John) Livermore of LeMars, IA, and Steven (Lisa) Schnepf of LeMars, IA. Their grandchildren, Brad (Kate) Fitzpatrick, Ryan (Stephanie) Fitzpatrick, Cole (Katrina) Fitzpatrick, David Gengler, Jessica Gengler, and Brian (Caitlin) Gengler, Kevin (Breannah) Suntken, Cody (Raven) Suntken and Molly Suntken (fiancé, Chase Fuhrman), Briana (Micheal) Deiterman and Justin (Ashlyn) Livermore, Alison (Colby) Snyder, MacKenzie Schnepf (fiancé, Alex Campbell) and Rylee (Xavier) Galles. Sixteen great-grandchildren (+ two on the way). Six brothers, Richard (Gin) Schwebach, Rodney (Marlys) Schwebach, Larry (Patsy) Schwebach, Walt (Jo Ann) Schwebach, Steve (Lorna) Schwebach, Leon (Nancy) Schwebach. Six sisters, Helen St. Peter, Rose Mary Wald, Theresa Bunts, Donna (Dennis) Ailts, Charlene (Dennis) Titus, Lorraine (Bart) Marshall. Two sisters-in-law, Carol Yoka and Bernice Schwebach. And many nieces and nephews.

Pearl was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Donald Schnepf in 2021; daughter, Kelli Sue Schnepf in 1972; her parents; her father and mother-in-law, Vincent and Matilda Schnepf; three brothers, Marvin, David and Paul Schwebach; two sisters-in-law, and one brother-in-law, June and V.J. Doud, and Janet Sorgdrager.
