Raymond Carl Konz

Raymond Carl Konz, age 69 of Le Mars, IA, passed away on May 18, 2024, at Cherokee Specialty Care in Cherokee, Iowa. He was known for his work, spending many years in road construction.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Granville, IA, with Rev. Timothy Pick officiating.  Services have been entrusted to Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen. 

Ray was born on Jan. 1, 1955, the son of Raymond & Monica (Bode) Konz.  Ray's journey began in Granville, Iowa, where he spent his early years before moving to Remsen, IA at the age of 10. It was in Remsen that Ray attended St. Mary's Catholic School, laying the foundation for his future endeavors. Ray had a diverse career path that showcased his adaptability and work ethic.

In his leisure time, Ray found joy in simple pleasures like watching football games and old westerns. His hobbies reflected his down-to-earth nature and appreciation for the little things in life.

Ray will be missed by his surviving family and friends. He leaves behind his daughter, Breanna (Riley) Peterson & their children Dior Marie & Myles Ray; his sisters, Barbara Blake of Le Mars, IA; Beverly (Calvin) Towne of Sloan, IA; Deb (Steve) Wright of Donna, TX; his favorite niece, Monica (Chad) Gravenish and their children; his nephews, LeRoy (Renee) Towne & their children, Travis (Beth) Towne, Jeremy Konz.

Ray was preceded by his parents, Raymond & Monica Konz; his brothers, Claire, Melvin & David “George” (Sheila) Konz; his sister, Kristy Gorman.
