Raymond M. Addy

Raymond M. Addy, age 67, of Marcus, IA, passed away at his home on May 7, 2025.

A celebration of life, gathering of family and friends, will be held Friday, June 13, 2025, with family present from 2-4 p.m. at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument, Earnest-Johnson Chapel in Marcus, Iowa.

Raymond was born on June 13, 1957, the son of Charles G. and Fern (Kramer) Addy. He was raised and educated in Marcus, Iowa graduating from MMC High School in 1976. After high school, Ray attended USD returning to Marcus to begin his lifelong career in construction. He was an active and long term volunteer of the Marcus Community Fair. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and watching sports, especially the Steelers, 76’ers, Orioles, Nascar, Hawkeyes, and Creighton Bluejays. He was proud of his gardening skills both with flowers and vegetables. We all benefitted from his canning- -jars of sauerkraut, jalapeño peppers, and asparagus appeared like magic! He was a collector of 70-80’s record albums, attending concerts of AC/DC, Fleetwood Mac and Rolling Stones to mention a few. Ray also surrounded his space with many Trolls.. cute or creepy? There was nobody who could tell a story and enjoy a laugh more than Ray!

Left to cherish his memory, as a beloved brother and cherished uncle, are his siblings, Charles J. Addy and his wife Frances, John R. Addy, Joan P. Kelley and her husband Michael, all of Omaha, NE and Gayle A. Leitz of Tracy, CA; 13 nieces and nephews and their spouses, Karen (Jason) Tully, Sam (Megan) Addy, Joseph (Laina) Addy, Patrick (Tabitha) Addy, Michael Addy, Rachel Kelley, Emily (Corey) Gorden, Amber (Bart) Winchester, Nicholas (Lauren) Kelley, Hannah (Michael) Kupfer, John (Tina) Pearson, Maggie Leitz, and Sarah Perez along with many great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Fern.
