Robert “Bob” CyrilNiehus, 62 years old, of Remsen, IA, died Friday, June 21, 2019, atFloyd Valley Health Care in Le Mars, IA.
Mass of christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen with Rev. William McCarthy officiating and Deacon Rick Roder assisting. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Remsen. Visitation with family present will be from 4-7 p.m with a parish rosary and a vigil prayer service at 5 p.m. on Monday all at the Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen, IA. Visitation will resume one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the funeral home. Services have been entrusted to Fisch Funeral Home and Monument.
Bob was born Nov. 5, 1956, at LeMars, IA, the son of LeRoy & Marcella (Reichling) Niehus. He was raised near Remsen on the family farm and received his education at both St. Mary Catholic School and Remsen-Union Community School, graduating from Remsen Union in 1975.
On April 15, 1978, he married Carolyn Andrews. The couple lived in Marcus and farmed south of Marcus until 1983 when they moved to a farm near Remsen.
Bob was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Remsen.
He loved everything John Deere, farming, watching his grandkids grow up and tinkering on the farm. He also enjoyed driving tractors in parades and fishing with his friend Fred.
Survivors include his children, Troy (Nichole) Niehus of Bennington, NE, Jason (Pam) Niehus of Phoenix, AZ, one Daughter, Jennifer (Mike) Donahoo of Sioux City, IA, Tyler (Hailey) Niehus of Omaha, NE; 4 grandchildren, Maci and Zack Niehus, Halle and Harper Niehus; 2 sisters, Kathy & her husband Wayne Vandal of Kasson, MN, Pat & her husband Glen Blinkmann of Mason City, IA; one sister-in-law, Deb Niehus of Remsen, IA; numerous nieces & nephews.
Preceded by: his parents LeRoy and Marcella Niehus; brother Jim Niehus.
