Ronald J. Fiedler, 77 years old, of Remsen, IA passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday May 12, 2020 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.
Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2020 at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen with Father William McCarthy officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Catherine Catholic Cemetery in Oyens, IA. Graveside military honors will be conducted by V.F.W. Post 3328 and American Legion Post 220 of Remsen. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service on Friday at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.
Ronnie was born on Oct. 23, 1942 at rural Oyens, IA. to Arnold and Kathryn (Kilker) Fiedler. He was raised in the Oyens area and attended country school. He then served in the US Army from July 2, 1964 to May 24, 1966. Over the years Ronnie worked for Joe Hoffman & Roman Fiedler in Oyens, Arnold Galles in Remsen and finally Remsen Lumber Company.
Ronnie enjoyed fishing, gardening, family, his granddaughters, feeding his birds and squirrels, playing scratch tickets at Mrs. B’s and his stops at Connor’s Lounge in Remsen.
Survivors include, his four children, Rhonda (Steve) Essick, Steve (Mary) Fiedler both of Spencer, IA, Andy Fiedler and special friend Christa Konz of Remsen, Jason (Amanda) Fiedler of Fostoria, IA; his 2 granddaughters, Zoe & Zia Fiedler; special Nephew Scott Fiedler; his siblings, Fr. Loyd Fiedler of the Philippines, LaVonne (Jim) Galles, Leon (Janet) Fiedler, Robert (Karen) Fiedler, Mary (Pat) Loutsch, Rose Ann Fiedler, Karen (Craig) Bartolozzi all of Remsen, Kay (Henry) Campbell of LeMars, IA, Marlene Gallardo of Sioux City, IA; numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, Arnold & Kitty Fiedler; niece, Stacie Fiedler; nephews, Corey Campbell & Brian Gallardo.
