Rosemarie (Rosemary) Staab, 92 years old, of Remsen, IA, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010, at Happy Siesta Health Care Center in Remsen, IA.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Remsen with Rev. William McCarthy officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Remsen. Visitation will be anytime after 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 12, 2010. There will be a parish rosary at 3 p.m., and vigil prayer service at 7 p.m., all at the Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.
Rosemarie was born January 12, 1918, on a farm near Oyens, IA, the daughter of Joseph & Clara (Delperdang) Majeres. She grew up near Oyens and attended grade school in Oyens as well. After grade school, she attended St. Mary’s High School and graduated in 1935.
On Sept. 17, 1945 she married Ralph Staab at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Oyens. Throughout her life, Rosemarie was a housewife who enjoyed gardening, fishing, and playing cards-especially with her family. Ralph died April 12, 1991.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Christian Women’s Guild, past member of The Catholic Daughters of America.
Survivors include: One son, Carl Staab & his wife Pat (Ruden) of Remsen; One daughter Pam Hutchins & her husband John of LeMars, IA; Her grandchildren, Curt Staab & his wife Lyndee of Clinton, MO; Brian Staab & his wife Bethany of Sergeant Bluff, IA; Dave Staab & his special friend Christina Snedeker of Denver, CO, Emily Hutchins of Moorhead, MN; Five great-grandchildren, Haley, Eric, Ethan, Brandon & Brogan Staab; Four sisters-in-law, Elaine Staab, Marion Staab both of Remsen, Olga Stoffel of Woodville, WI, & Thelma Brown Gunnison, CO; Many Nieces & nephews.
Preceded by: her parents, One brother Cyril Majeres & his wife Rose Ann, one sister Rita Ritz & her husband John; Four brothers-in-law, Rich & Milo Staab, Bill Stoffel, John Brown; two nephews, Mark Staab & Matthew Brown, One Niece, Jane Staab.
