Sally Ann Ortmann, 80, of Remsen, died May 26, 2025, in Gilbert, AZ.

Memorial mass will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen with Rev. Timothy Pick officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be 4-6:30 p.m. on Wednesday with a rosary & vigil prayer service at 5 p.m. all at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen. Visitation will resume on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home. www.fischfh.com

Sally was born on May 15, 1945, to Bernie and Miranda Wurth in Remsen, IA. She attended St. Mary's school, graduating in 1963.

On September 4, 1965, she married Robert James Ortmann at St. Mary's Catholic Church and had three children, Rob, Penny, and Russ. Sally lived most of her life in Remsen and had several jobs, including working at the Bell Enterprise and Happy Siesta. After retirement she enjoyed presenting programs to residents of nursing homes in the surrounding area. In 2018, she moved to Arizona to be with her family.

Sally was known for her sense of humor, patriotism, and support for the military. She was often found working in her flowerbeds and watching her birds and squirrels from her deck while enjoying a cup of coffee.

Sally is survived by her children, Rob Ortmann of Mesa, AZ, Penny Engard, and Russ and Marilou Ortmann, all of Gilbert, AZ., her grandchildren Jared and Jaden Engard, Jason Engard, John Ortmann, Matthew Ortmann, and Anthony Ortmann, and great-granddaughter Paige on the way. Additionally, sisters Dorie Wurth, and Rose and Dale Nielson of Britt, IA and sisters-in-law Janice Wurth of Chicago, IL, Mary Ellen Wurth of Remsen, and Pat Wurth of Marcus, IA remain to carry on her memory and traditions.
