Sherrie was born to Donald and Maurene (De Boom) Miller in Cherokee, IA, on August 19, 1960. She was raised in Paullina, IA graduating from Paullina High School in 1978. Sharol married Tom Roder on June 28, 1980 in Granville IA, where they made their home and raised their family. She worked for American State Bank for 43 years in that same community. She belonged to Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Granville where she volunteered many years on the parish finance board, the picnic auction committees and the young adult choir.
She found joy in the simple things in life. Whether it was tending to her flowers around their old 2 story home, working in her garden, or decorating her home to celebrate each changing season, she had a gift for making every space feel warm and welcoming. She enjoyed evenings on the deck with family and friends.
Above all else, her greatest joy was her family. Sherrie treasured every moment spent with her children and grandchildren, creating memories that will last forever. She also greatly cherished the many friendships she built throughout her life, always making others feel like family with her generosity, kindness, and welcoming spirit. Her faithful companion, Bo, held a special place in her heart, and was rarely far from her side.
Those left to cherish her memory are her adoring husband of 46 years, Tom of Granville; son, Kelly and his wife Kerianne Roder of Adel, IA, and their children, Kole and Kasey; daughter, Sarah Kleinwolterink and her husband Shane of Granville, IA, and their children Paisley and Quin.
She will also be dearly missed by her sister, Sandy Steinberg of Duluth, MN; step sisters, Elsa (Pat) Casey, and Inge (Craig) Borland; in-laws, Lori (Tim) Mousel of Alton, IA, Roger (Debbie) Roder of Omaha, NE, Dale (Jane) Roder of Sioux City, IA, Vicki (Roger) Fritz of Jewell, IA, Doug (Paula) Roder of Lawton IA, Ryan (Stephanie) Roder of Buffalo MN; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Greeting her at the gates of heaven will be her parents, Donald and Maurene; her sister, Marilyn; her in-laws, Gerald and Clarice Roder; and numerous friends that have gone before her.
