Shirley A. Shea, 87, of Marcus, IA, passed away Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025 at Heartland Care Center in Marcus, Iowa surrounded by her family. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, 2025 at Holy Name Catholic Church in Marcus with Rev. Timothy Pick officiating and Deacon Jerry Bertrand assisting. Burial will follow at Holy Name Cemetery in Marcus, IA. Rosary and vigil prayer service will be at 4 p.m., visitation will follow with family present until 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Holy Name Catholic Church in Marcus. Visitation will resume 1 hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. Services have been entrusted to Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen. www.fischfh.com. 

Shirley was born on Sept. 1, 1937 to George and Lucile (Belz) Schuttpelz. She lived her first years east of James, IA and then moved to the farm southeast of Remsen, IA. She attended Union Consolidated High School, graduating in 1955.

She married Paul Shea on May 25, 1955 at Holy Name Church in Marcus. Paul served in the U.S. Army, she went with Paul to Germany during the Korean Conflict. While in Germany she gave birth to their first daughter. After Paul’s discharge they moved to a farm south of Marcus. They moved into Marcus in Dec. 1967. Several years later she became an Avon Representative, she did this from 1973 until her retirement in 2019. She was a member of the Avon Presidents Club. Paul passed away Dec. 26, 2020.

Shirley was a member of Holy Name Parish in Marcus for many years. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She enjoyed her loyal Avon customers, flowers, grandchildren and friends. She was strong in her faith and always prayed for someone in need.

She is survived by her daughters, YeVonne (Bill) Loutsch of Oyens, IA, Vicky (Kenny) Bolton of LeMars, IA, Lisa (Roger) Fischer of Granville, IA; seven grandchildren, Becky Loutsch (Aaron Walloch), Megan McHenry (John Fisher), James (Trish) Loutsch, Kevin (Janelle) Bolton, Sherri Bolton (Grant Eason), Brandon (Stacy) Fischer, Erin Fischer; great-grandchildren, Miley Wilcox, Nik, Tony, and Zach McHenry, Quinn Fisher, Riley and Harper Loutsch, Brayden, Brooklyn, and Brenna Bolton, Calvin, Keegan and Bailee Fischer, Camden and Conan Shearer; her brother, Stan (Jan) Schuttpelz; several nieces and nephews. 

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brother, Clyde (Carol) Schuttpelz; sister, Darlene Roberson; brothers-in-law, Gerald (Velva) Shea, Walter (Theresa) Shea, Omer (Bev) Shea and Larry (Arlene) Shea; sisters-in-law, Elaine (William) Sanow, Clara (Jim) Kayser, Lois Pedersen. 

Casket bearers will be Becky Loutsch, Nik McHenry, James Loutsch, Kevin Bolton, Sherri Bolton, Brandon Fischer, Erin Fischer.
