Carla L. Stodden, 62, of Marcus, Iowa, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2022, at the Heartland Care Center in Marcus. Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Peace Lutheran Church in Marcus. Rev. Kevin Roop will officiate. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, rural Marcus. Visitation with the family present will begin at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at the Earnest – Johnson Funeral Home in Marcus. There will be a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. There will also be one hour of visitation at the church on Thursday prior to the funeral service.


Carla Lou Stodden passed away Friday, December 2, 2022, at Heartland Care Center in Marcus, Iowa where she has resided since 2009. She was born March 24, 1960, to Carl and Donna (Harnack) Stodden of Marcus. She attended University Hospital School at the University of Iowa for many years, then returning to graduate from Marcus Community High School in 1979.

She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, Farmville, and Words-with-Friends.

She will be missed by a sister, Diane (Ken) Hansen of Smithville, MO; a brother, Steven (Bev) Stodden of Marcus, IA; two sisters-in-law, Joan Stodden of Cherokee, IA and Sally Stodden of Marcus, IA; two aunts, Marie Schriener of Remsen, IA and Sharon Harvey of Marcus, IA; and an uncle, Ronald Harnack of Pomeroy, IA; as well as nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death her parents; and three brothers, Dennis, Gary, and David.
