Sue Ann Pick, 72, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026.

Private Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Oyens, IA. Burial will follow at St Catherine’s Cemetery in Oyens. Public welcome to the visitation with family present 4-6 p.m. on Monday, March 23, 2026 with a vigil prayer service at 5 p.m. at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen, IA. www.fischfh.com

Sue was born on May 18, 1953, in Le Mars, Iowa, to Sylvester and Helen (Schnepf) Pick. She was baptized at St. Catherine’s Church in Oyens. At an early age, Sue was affected by polio, setting her on a journey that presented lifelong challenges. She met those challenges head on, never letting those challenges define her spirit or the joy she brought to others.

Growing up, Sue attended special education programs through Le Mars Community Schools. Her family was deeply grateful for Plymouth County’s commitment to supporting individuals with special needs. Sylvester and Helen, alongside other dedicated families, helped establish the Life Skills Training Center in Le Mars, to provide vocational skills and opportunities to adults with disabilities. Sue worked there for many years through March 2022.

“Susie” lived at a Pride Group home from 1987 until 2022. As her health needs increased, she moved to the Good Samaritan Society in March 2022, where she continued to be surrounded by compassionate care.

Susie loved spending time with her family and visiting with her many friends. If you said “Hi” to her once, she remembered you forever. If you were a friend of one of her family members, you would become a friend of hers. She embraced her caregivers as part of her extended family, always asking about their lives and loved ones. She loved animals and watching sports, especially cheering on the St. Mary’s Hawks and Caitlin Clark.

Sue is survived by her siblings: Tom (Joyce) Pick of Le Mars; Dan Pick of Oyens; Lea Reid (Ron O’Hern) of Sioux City; Wayne (Kelley) Pick of Le Mars; Arlene (Joe) Bird of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; and Steve (Steph) Pick of Norwalk, Iowa; as well as many nieces and nephews, including her weekly Sunday visitor, Jocelyne Pick.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother-in-law, Ron Reid.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Good Samaritan Society for their compassionate care and support.

Casket bearers will be Marc Pick, Chris Pick, Matt Pick, JJ Pick, Mike Schnepf, Loren Schnepf
