Susan “Sue” Tritz, 79 years old, of Remsen, IA passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Happy Siesta Healthcare in Remsen, IA.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 13, 2025 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen, IA with Father Timothy Pick officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Remsen. Visitation with family present will be 4-6:30 p.m. Sunday, there will be a parish rosary and vigil prayer service at 5 p.m. all at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen. Visitation will resume 1 hour prior to the funeral on Monday at the funeral home.

Sue was born April 2, 1946 the daughter of Elroy Baumann & Agnes (Hoxie) Baumann-Hoyt in Le Mars, IA. She was raised at Marcus & Remsen, Iowa. She was educated in Marcus and graduated from Holy Name Catholic High School in 1964. She then worked at the Triangle Bar in Remsen where she met her future husband Frank.

On May 26, 1978 she married Frank Tritz at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen. Over the years she worked at the Triangle, Connor’s Lounge, Remsen Tank Line and the Marcus Junction. Frank passed away July 25, 2005.

Sue was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen and the church guild. She was an avid collector. She collected carnival glass, antiques and bobble heads. She enjoyed listening to Elvis, doing Cross Stitch and word searches.

Survivors include her step children, Mike Tritz of Remsen, IA, Jeff (Sandi) Tritz of Remsen, IA, Kathy (Dean) Rhodes of Remsen, IA, Frank (Kim) Tritz Jr. of Le Mars, IA, Sandy (Mark) Rolfes of Le Mars, IA, Tami (Jay) Schroeder of Remsen, IA and Clint (Heidi) Tritz of Remsen, IA; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; her sister, Jean Baumann of Omaha, NE; step siblings, Linda Spieler of Marcus, IA, Randy (Deb) Hoyt of Runnells, IA, Rita (Tom) Nuebel of Milford, IA, step brother-in-law, Jim Bellas of Sioux Falls, SD.

She was preceded by her parents, Elroy Baumann and Agnes (Don) Hoyt; her husband Frank Tritz; step-sister, Karen Bellas; step brother-in-law, Merle Spieler.

Casket bearers will be, Dustin Tritz, Matt Tritz, Parker Rolfes, Garret Schroeder, Logan Rhodes, Mitch Rhodes and Ty Tritz.
