Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2022, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen, IA with Father Timothy Pick officiating and Deacon Doug Heeren assisting. Burial will follow at Remsen Community Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, there will be a parish rosary and vigil prayer service at 5 p.m. all at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen. Visitation will resume at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Services have been entrusted to the Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.
Anne was born Oct. 2, 1925 in Remsen, IA the daughter of Emil & Marie (Appel) Gehrens. She was raised with her siblings on a farm south of Remsen. She received her education in a rural school system and graduated from Union Consolidated School in 1944. She then attended Western Union for a teaching certificate and taught school in the Plymouth and Cherokee counties.
Anne married Elmer Erichsen on Sept. 23, 1947 at Remsen. They began farming south of Remsen until they retired and moved into Remsen. Elmer passed away July 7, 1989.
Anne was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and church guild. She was also a member of the Happy Siesta Auxiliary for many years. She enjoyed quilting, giving crochet lessons and belonged to a few card clubs.
Survivors include her 3 children, Marlene Sinclair of Pueblo, CO, Allen (Jean) Erichsen of Remsen, IA, Brenda (Don) Haag of North Liberty, IA; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Vivian Johnson of Ireton, IA and Rita Swain of Kingsley, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Tom Sinclair; 2 brothers-in-law, Fabin Swain and Roland Johnson; sister-in-law, Evelyn (Don) Bierman.
Casket bearers will be Luke Erichsen, Miranda Pommier, Josh Pommier, Angie Fillmore, Brent Fillmore and Don Haag.
